Doing arenas would basically be the equivalent of like 6 tour dates playing theaters. She could still make her arena dates feel intimate.

As long as there are remotely enough tickets she's fine. I.e. Taylor's entire Red tour was sold out so obviously some people were forced to miss out, but for the vast majority who wanted tickets there was supply for. Perhaps the only this that would cause more public unhappiness than Adele not touring at all is her not having a big enough supply of tickets to meet anywhere near the demand, and genuine fans not getting to go after all this time because of that.
She shouldn't overextend her voice again, obviously. And a few theatre gigs here and there are fine, but if we look at what happened in 2011, doing tons and tons of small shows really wouldn't be efficent. Again, most importantly of all, there needs to be enough tickets to go around as much as possible. I'm sure just about everybody would rather go to a less "intimate" arena show (you're still seeing Adele...who cares how many other people are there with you?) than not go at all because there are no tickets.
