I think that bullying was worse in the past, because you could essentially get beat up for a lot of things and nobody would care and it was much more physical.

Nowadays, it's much more cyberbullying and political correctness.

Although it's pretty horrible, I do agree some people are a tad bit sensitive.

Both. People nowadays are way to sensitive, but at the same time bullying is getting worse. I do think its more so vocal bullying rather than physical now

Bullying's always been an inexcusable bad behavior. If your get a kick out of making other people feel miserable and attacking them for whatever reason, then you're doing a poor job at life. And it's great that it is getting more and more attention these days from the media.

It doesn't matter if you fight back and feel like super man afterwards, what that person did you was wrong and others may not figure it out like you did (and invalidating their feelings by calling them too sensitive is sure not gonna help either). I'm sure you wouldn't go back to a bully and thank them for exercising their civic right to screw you over and "helping" you prepare for "real life". Like SlayingOnEarth said, you don't have to bring someone down to build them up.

Bullying is a bit worse nowadays because it happens to everyone whether they are attractive or not. Previously, only ugly or "less attractive" kids would get bullied. Now even attractive kids get insulted and if it's funny enough, people bandwagon or it goes viral and their social media lives (and real lives) end up in shambles (this is cyberbullying wise but can also apply to some schools).

EDIT: We are way more sensitive now but I still think today's bullying can be ridiculous since you can get cyber bullied then traditionally bullied at school. So the bullying never ends for some kids.

I agree that there is more visibility and that is a good thing because we are fighting against it. And I am also very suspicious about cyber bullying because it is so easy to block people from your Twitter and Facebook accounts. The real issue I guess is when rumors or pictures spread online and have consequences off-line or when someone infringes upon your privacy. I remember an Indian guy at Harvard or some uppy university who recorded this guy having sex as a joke and the guy committed suicide because people didn't know he was gay. People can be quite insensitive.

it wasn't some uppy university it was just Rutgers. but I get what you are saying. Things like sex tapes and naked pictures last forever in the digital world.

which is why I am always so shocked at how easy it is to land nudes from just about anyone I could easily post them on twitter or something, and it will be on the internet until the end of time.
