No. Every time she releases an album, there's always that promise that something will be different- but there has never been any growth from her artistically. It's all recycled forgettable pop tunes that she mime all the time. Not sure why her career lasted this long, tbh. She's all smoke and mirrors.

well maybe the reason her album flopped is because she did NO promo??? but i don't think she is interested in making a comeback or put effort on it, she is tired and I don't blame her, all the things that she has gone through, I think she wants to retire and live a peaceful life she doesn't have the same passion. Unfortunately, we're entering an era where pop stars are expecting to perform live. And if they're going to lip-sync, make it somewhat believable. Britney also hasn't been able to dance as well since her knee injury, having kids and her break-down. So we can't really say "she was a dancer turned singer" anymore, because now her dancing is quite poor. She's no Michael Jackson or Beyonce. Because of these reasons, she's not able to develop new fans out of 13-16 year olds. People who are just really starting to pay attention to who's whom in pop culture. They're paying attention to Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, One Direction and Katy Perry. As a result, her fan base has stopped growing. It remains existing, and her fans will get older with her. We'll always remember the hits, but a lot of people who were teens/in their 20s in the late 90s and early 2000's don't go clubbing anymore. They're raising young families and look forward to actually getting a decent night's sleep, not the release of a new Britney Spears video on VEVO. As the saying goes "I used to be cool, then they changed what cool was." Britney's talent level in 2014 isn't enough to cultivate new fans. She will simply keep her existing fans who will remember the good times (and the bad times) from when she was the princess of pop and the most famous girl in the world. And you know what? That's ok. She deserves a break. She's a multimillionaire with tens of millions of dollars. I actually think she wants to give it up. Especially the paparazzi and the fame. She seems like she just wants to settle down, raise her family, maybe even have more kids and travel the world with them.

Exactly. It's only up to her I think.

If she wants to come back at the top, she'll do it and will be successful. Just depends on her desire to do so, her motivation, her passion, all the promotion, etc.
She's not in this business for 17 years for nothing. She knows what to do to be successful, she's an icon.
The question is : does she still want to do music, be in the industry or not ?

As a stan, I just hope she doesn"t finish her career with the Britney Jean album and I don't think Britney team will let that happen, neither Britney tbh.
So let's just pray that after the Vegas shows, she makes a little break to enjoy her kids, her role as mom, and find the passion again, redefine her sound like she has always done until Britney Jean.
