Madonna re-invented her image over time per album release, not every single public appearance. Gaga has landed in the same unfortunate situation as artists like Prince, Cyndi Lauper and Boy George. The public now view her as a novelty act and won't take her seriously. Everything she releases from now on will be paid dust. I know, it's so unfair. The talented artists who follow their hearts fade away while industry marketing slaves like Madonna and Katy Perry prevail

Lol please, Madonna is hardly a marketing slave, she released so many risky albums, and she wrote most of her music. Gaga's problem is she hasn't been marketing herself well or delivering high enough quality, you can be an 'out-there' artist and still maintain success, you just have to make it palatable. When a lot of her own fans are confused with her and don't like what she's been doing this whole era how do you expect the public to feel?
