The difference is Rihanna is doing a soundtrack for the movie she promoting. Studio have bigger budgets than label to promote and the executives of DW seem confidant in this especially with the success of Happy and Frozen they will be putting their money in this.

She's not promoting a kids movie while releasing an album made for teen and adults.

She's doing 2-in-1 which is why I also believe R8 should be push back to May (only if they don't do a Oscar push) and if they do an Oscar push then push back the albun to August.
