I hope she breaks the cycle of our representatives answering the Q&A portion with English, which held us back from the crown. I do believe that answering Tagalog will give them a chance to really speak from their heart, and to finally give a much coherent answer. Because really, when they answer in English it takes away much precious time from them when they convert Tagalog to English in their heads, and sometimes they trip and they start mumbling nonsense because they spend their time searching for the appropriate English words to say. Sometimes it comes out forced and incoherent.
That's my honest opinion. There's a reason why Tagalog is our official first language. Let me rephrase: there's a reason why Tagalog is our native language.
I agree that speaking English will show how "smart" we are, but at the same time, why ignore the beauty of our Filipino language?
