Everybody loves Shakira. All these lashings are for her stanbase. Her fans, out of the blue, just started to come for the Beyhive the second CRTFY was announced. We told them "hey remember Beautiful Liar? We are friends" but they ignored us. They were perched in our album and singles threads reporting anything that was slightly off topic or sarcastic. And if you say you didn't like CRTFY, they'll report you.
I'm sure this album will do well overseas and by the looks of it Empire and Dare could smash in the US too. But as of now, these HDD numbers are bad given all the stops her label pulled. Her ATRL fans deserve the lashings.

uh britney did radio interviews while shakira had a massive target deal with a commercial that aired 24/7, her crest whitestrips ads everywhere, yogurt, t-mobile, the voice, etc. In fact I just got a damn text from t-mobile about her new album release, and i got the same thing a few weeks ago for CRTFY.
