I did not handle the movement of the ARTPOP thread in question, though. I handled a report that another member sent in about your thread, closing it because it fit what I had read a few minutes before in a post by another mod that I agreed with. I don't know whether your suggested thread would be closed - and would not personally handle a report involving it if a legitimate report that made a point were made - because there is no solid policy on that type of thread and I do not know whether it's appropriate. It doesn't break any rules that I know of, and clearly another mod thought the ARTPOP thread was okay since they moved it, so I'd personally let it fly.

Well, I'll be making a "Shakira. under 'Top Albums' on iTunes." Same format as the other thread that's apparently A-okay. Let's see how long that lasts.

The two things are not the same at all though

Top Albums is commenting on chart position.

New Music is commenting on it being listed as a new release when it is not....

I mean, I'd just let it fly because I don't see that big of a deal with it. If another moderator sees it as being equivalent to the charting threads or as a piggyback off of the ARTPOP thread they're well within their rights to close it as such - I'm just not going to handle the thread or any reports from it because I wouldn't be confident in a decision on the issue. I don't get what was so significant about me "letting it fly" though?

Doesn't matter. Once is based on position (which only is entitled to a new thread if it is a song), and the other is not.

Retro wasn't the only mod who let the thread fly. Another did too, so I don't understand why the blame/lashings are only being sent Retro's way.

I can understand why Shak stans are upset, but let's not do too much on one of the nicest mods here.

LOL. Already closed and warned as "Disruptive". Intriguing. I guess after a certain point, it's just censorship. Even if you package it in a way that will "fly" for others.

It's not a copycat thread in a form of mockery or bandwagoning. I'm just trying to figure out a legitimate way to post information that has been closed in 3 other previous threads by fans.

Anyway, the greater point (wink wink ) is understood.
