Help me out:

What makes Mariah important?
What has she done that is so special?
Why is she a legend?
What is her most important work?
How has she changed pop music?
etc etc etc

Also if y'all know of any good Mariah sources, help a lamb out

The Legacy Section of Mariah's wikipedia page has credible primary sources within each sentence or paragraph, which I co-wrote with other hardcore wikipedian lambs.
Yas bitches, that Pop-Hip-Hop Quotes, the article written by St.Petersburgs Time, The New Yorker, etc I worked hard finding for that mess. And finding those articles in 2009 wasn't really easy compared now because back then Mariah was still seen as a viable pop star and it's mostly her chart success were reported. 5 years ago people don't even deem Mariah as a legend compared now.
I really hated how Little Reductives kept saying that Mariah is comparable to Rihanna/Katy; successful with no influence and impact. Bitch, Imma bout to prove these hoes that Mariah is actually influential and has impact in the music world.
I remember in 9th grade my teacher wanted us to write about two influential figures in the world; and have one of them actually inspired you as a student. My whole class know damn well that I'm gonna write a 7 page report about our Queen.

She and Whitney are the blueprints for Pop Vocalists. Mariah made whistle-register more mainstream than Minnie Riperton could ever do. Prior to Carey and ODB's collaboration it was strange and unheard of to pair a leading Female Pop Superstar with a hard-core rapper. People even thought it was a career suicide. She made it a standard and thus whenever you see a Female Pop Star 95% of them would collaborate with hard-core rappers. Let me add the eternal classic which is "All I Want For Christmas Is You".
What is her most important work?
Vision of Love, Fantasy(Remix), All I Want For Christmas Is You, Hero(even as sappy as it is, it's still Mariah's most influential song to the masses)
etc etc etc
