The performance most likely meant;

1. Nothing. It was just something shocking for press. Simply exploiting something her artist friend does already.
2. Purging. Considering how dark the song is, it's very symbolic to show purging whilst singing it.
3. Bulimia. Whilst we assume the song is about rape, it could also be about mental insecurity.

GLAMORISING eating disorders? Come on. Her "popstars don't eat" comment was doing that, not this. Listen to the damn lyrics. "You're just a pig inside a human body...you're so disgusting...you're just a pig inside. Swine!" + vomiting...you think she's putting a positive/attractive spin on it?

We know it's about rape, Gaga said at the start of the performance. But I agree - the idea what Lady Gaga did during that was glamorizing makes about as much sense as Demi is relevant.

Oh I didn't even see that bit. So there's even LESS reason to think the performance had anything to do with eating disorders?

If people missed the explanation, I still don't get how they could hear this song and see someone vomiting and think....'hey, Gaga's making this bulimia stuff look pretty great, lemme get to a cubicle real quick'. Like. Even if you don't listen to the lyrics, the delivery and messiness was enough to not be "glamorising" anything.
