Yes. That she was never able to release something more personal and emotional is the biggest failure and tragedy of her career so far imo. in the eyes of the more or less uninformed public she is what she said she didn't want to be: a caricature.
The only thing that makes it even worse is how it wasn't even her own fault. We all know she wanted to release something different for a change.
