All those people that automatically say "gaga" please consider a few things.

These are the ticket sales for the BTWB cancelled tour dates

As you can clearly see (number 36) lady gaga sold 179,646 tickets. Which is just over 9000 tickets per show (18 shows) in venues that have a capacity of 15-20k (the same as miley) This is also VERY close to what billboard reported - "ABOUT 200,000 REFUNDS GIVEN"

As you can clearly see Katy Perry sold 1,207,386 tickets and did 119 shows.

That means Katy was playing to just over 10k people per show which is highier than gaga (albiet a small amount)

Logic says it's safe to say that according to offical data (provided) Katy Perry has larger touring power in the largest music market in the world - The US.

POWER - is about tickets sold and demand. If we were to talk gross, that would be another matter.

Katy Perry has also sold more tickets in Australia in under 24 hours than gaga has in the 2 weeks hers have been on sale.

We can also look at the amount of shows Katy has added into the mix. Twice as many as gaga.

To me, it seems like a pretty obvious answer as to whom has the greatest touring power.

Ok so lets examine what you have said.

I'm glad you bought this up. I disgaree that power = Money being made but let's for arguement sake say that you are correct.

You realise that GROSS is the amount made without any of the fee's taxe's production costs taken out of it. I can easily debate that Katy Perry makes more money than lady gaga touring wise when we remove all the costs associated with putting on a show.

Lady gaga entered in at number 6 (top tours of 2012) with a gross amount of $124,879,545

We'll have to see. Considering the BTWB's Asian leg alone almost outgrossed the entire California Dreams tour though, I'm gonna say no. I don't think Gaga has fallen THAT far.

I'm not really sure what kind of insane production costs you think Gaga's tours entail... they're certainly not cheap affairs, but not enough to take away from the fact that the BTWB grossed $1-3 million per date on average, while the California Dreams tour grossed like $500k per date.

Gaga is a much bigger touring force as of now. She has already amassed a whopping 400+ Million from 2 tours & it is incredible...not a lot of people can do that, with just 4 years in the business!

Of course, that's not to take away from Katy's success...but she hasn't established herself as "Touring Force"...but all that can change in the future & she can do really well!
