How many plays does it take before you get bored of a song?
Obviously your answers will depend on how much you enjoy the song. However for a song you find moderate to good, how many listens does it take before you end up skipping, or not listening to again?
I found from Itunes and Last.fm that songs normally expire after 35 - 40 plays.
Until I get a new album by the same artist, I stopped listening to Born This Way (album) when Artpop was released, same with Teenage Dream/Prism, Animal/Warrior, Femme Fatale/ Britney Jean.
There are exceptions like Hold It Against Me and ballads. Rihanna is also an exception because I usually only like her dance songs so that's usually 2 songs per album, I still use Only Girl, S&M, Where Have You Been and Right Now along with some of her ballads/midtempos.
There are like two kinds of songs in my iTunes library -- my absolute faves and the rest. My absolute faves usually pass 100, and the rest usually get stale around 50.
Depends on the song; if it's on the radio, they usually overplay it for me. But if I'm listening to the song on my own accord, it probably takes around 100+ plays since I really like the song!
I actually don't bother repeating a listen to a song unless it absolutely floors me on first listen. If that's the case, I can go over 100+ plays and not be bored of a song.
Between 100 and 300 because I've noticed most of my songs on Last FM are within that play range. So I consider anyting 300+ to be Certified Platinum on my Last FM.
