Gaga circa 2009-2010 and Miley 2013 were actually kind of a similar type of pop phenomena. Everyone knew them and talked about them in conversation. If you didn't know who they were or what they were doing, you were kind of out of the loop in pop culture.

Gaga is extremely well known pop culture figure, even if mostly for her debut and first 2-3 years.

Gaga was a social media behemoth until 2011, just like Miley in 2013.

Jennifer, you are wrong. Gaga did have everyone talking. The meat dress is quite often still referenced. I agree that Miley eclipsed it in terms of social relevance but 2009Ga makes it up for actually being global. I mean, Poker Face & Just Dance are both IFPI entries. I can count the amount of countries WCS & Wrecking Ball went top 10 in 2 hands.
