I just had my iPod on shuffle: first "#Beautiful" came on, then Miguel's new track "Simplethings", and I got kind of emotional. As much as I love "You're Mine (Eternal)" and Rodney Jerkins' production – I still get slayed everday by the organic and natural sound of #B (and "The Art Of Letting Go" as well). I can only hope that that is the direction she's going for because to me that's her best work since "Butterfly".
A fresh R&B sound and she would surprise and possibly slay everyone! Everytime I listen to Blood Orange's latest album I wish she'd work with them. I can totally imagine her vocals on that with a slightly different production. It would be perfect
