How did Christina and her team latch on to that? If MTV and the Media are promoting that, that's them not her or her team.

If she really wanted to latch onto Britney she would have released a teen pop follow up in 2000 too but she did a Spanish and Xmas album instead.

And I think you're underestimating the GP. I think they knew the difference between Britney and Christina. They knew Christina was more of a vocalist and Britney was more of a dancer.

Mess @ you comparing voice and X factor as something Britney vs Xtina. Voice was already much more succesful than X factor when Britney came. In fact the first few weeks Britney was on was X factors only hoorah and then it flopped like it did before her and after her. Voice worked just as well if not better with Shakira in Xtinas seat and Say Something is not Christinas song. The songs covers smash alone lmao. Compare their last solo efforts, especially since the thread asks for Solo careers specifically cuz all the fighters keep bringing up feature songs to defend Christina.

The MOST legendary ones have all been widely regarded as the top selling musicians of their eras. Elvis, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, etc etc.

There are a few, maybe, like Cher (who just won't retire) or Bette (who's more known for having a gay icon mother), but they are fewer in between.

Christina and her team could have stopped the comparisons if they wanted. Everyone knows that. Why is it that every article with Christina mentioned Britney, but not the other way around? Not even every Jessica or Mandy article mentioned Britney. Not every Beyonce article mentioned Britney, etc. Just Christina's.
