Why stan for basic pop girls & old ass R&B acts, when you have YOUNG urban pop artists?
You have artists like Tinashe who offer both the "in my feelings" music and the "i'm that bitch" type songs, Cassie who also has really fun songs that knock and then sex jams like "Sound of Love", Jhene who also gives "in my feelings" music, and artists like Kid Ink who make pretty meaningless music but have fun lyrics and production.
Dd;; I think the first big Gay artist of this generation will arise from Urban. Urban is taking over, and Urban kinda already loves gays (Francine, Migay, Drake, etc).
+ Rappers lowkey act gay 24/7 and the Urban community loves it.
