I don't think an OP being temporarily banned is always entirely grounds for an OP change.

I think one thing the mods could do is have more visibility on the site so regular members don't feel upset with sudden rule changes because they feel the mods just make decisions just because they have the power to. I think I saw Retro say it has been mentioned among the mods but I definitely think it should be made into reality.
I understand it can be tough trying to interact while enforcing the rules but maybe the mods could consider unbanning certain rules like putting "La" in front of certain words, that don't harm anyone. Some rules like that only affect fads that would've naturally gone away on their own, like every other fad on this site, but by banning it you make people want to use it more/make it drawn out.
Just some thoughts. Have a nice day!

We're definitely working on communication and community interaction more lately. I personally have some ideas for the immediate future, stay tuned! Indeed it is important to note that we try to be members just as much as moderators; it's important for us to balance those qualities and we do try. But it's also important to note that as different people, how we act outside the moderator role as just members is different!
As for rule changes, all are discussed by the team before ever being put into effect. We won't be revoking most of the rules about LaLingo and such anytime soon but we don't make those rules without reason.
