Yes there's hype for new Nicki, granted it's not as huge as the hype for ARTPOP or any other overly-anticipated album, but that's solely because she isn't hyping it up herself (which is a good thing). Besides if there wasn't any hype for her, would you have posted this thread in the first place? Obviously she does have some type of hype if she has your attention.

Nicki has all the blogs and publications buzzing over "Boss Ass Bitch", "My ******" & "Danny Glover". She hasn't said a word but the rumors circulating by said publications and blogs is that theres an album & maybe even a mixtape coming.

Bottom line if people didn't know she has an album coming she's setting things up the right way. By getting her name in the streets. Ya know... a place a lot of you people have never really been. Thats where a lot of original fans are & who she wants back after RR.

The problem is, some of y'all are thinking of "Hype" as defined by the cookie-cutter pop world. Most of her hyping has been built within the hip-hop world tho. She needs to establish her hype there first and foremost before she starts working on building crossover hype.

So to answer the question, she doesn't have much hype among the GP because she hasn't been catering to the GP, at least not yet. She does, however, have a lot of hype in the hip-hop community. In hip-hop, country, etc an artist isn't seen as "irrelevant" just because they're not being talked about by the media. Thats some pop ish.
