Why? BEYONCE will never sell over 10m like Stripped did, and hit #1 in more countries with the album, and its singles. Beautiful's bigger, and more acclaimed than any Bey single ever.
In Bey's prime, Crazy In Love only could top 3 countries' charts for Heaven's sake.
Exactly, it was controversial. 2 signature things about X: dirrty and beautiful, both derived from Stripped. If the G-Pee had to recall anything about X, that would most likely would be it.
Dirtty failed for the reason you listed people saw her chasing after Britney once again with the sexed up image and trying to cause controversy, she got compared to Slave 4 U, and has been seen as Britney's shadow more than half of her career but
I'm almost gobsmacked over the fact that Aggie has never put out a good album. B2B seems to be oft-cited as her best, if only because it's her most cohesive.
Even then, it still serves as a test to your mettle when you have to sift through the unsavory amount of filler to get to what's good.
It's always funny when I see "Beyoncé won't sell as much as *insert album from years ago inflated sales*"
Your own fave will never see those numbers either so where's the drag?
Beyoncé will probably sell about the same as B2B despite it being more than 8 years later in a horrid sales climate while Xtina won't sell 1/10th of Stripped or have a song go top 20 from her own album ever again.

Yeah, Dirrty had bad timing b/c ppl read it as her copying Britney. Oh well, Britney had her time. Xtina's time ain't up yet.
