But everyone DID drag Bad Romance back when it first leaked. Just go look at the single thread from back in 2009, and you'll see posts talking about how she's "lost it" and "proved she was just a flash in the pan." They changed their tune when it became a commercial success despite all that.

Judging by the praise people have given Born This Way on the ARTPOP reviews for its forward thinking and experimental nature.. yeah. I agree. The critics definitely changed their mind and used what they liked about Born This Way against ARTPOP. Nostalgia sure is for geeks.

I may be wrong but I truly think the reason ARTPOP is being dragged the way it is - is because of the person who is singing.

As far as quality goes I don't think any of her previous albums are miles better than ARTPOP.

I didn't read a single meltdown when the album leaked and the promo singles were dropping. Even on SYG (where people DRAG Gaga by the minute now) said good things about the album. It all changed when the underperformance came. Gaga's meltdowns didn't helped either.

I agree, it really is a great album, but when it comes to radio/gp friendly and relatability there is a big difference with The Fame and TFM... Not that that is what I care about the most, but it's something pop stars have to consider when they choose which route to take or which part of the public they want to appeal to. If you want to be the world's biggest pop star you cannot become the rebel kicking against the established powers and foundations of society, especially this early in your career

I don't blame her for disowning DWUW. She had it on the cutting room floor, then people (probably) intervened with R Kelly's inclusion, convinced/decided it would be a single once it blew up, which in turn pushed aside her producing/writing debut with Venus, it probably factored into her firing longterm manager and friend, then it began to struggle, then there was a blatantly not-Gaga's-idea remix with Rick Ross which did nothing, then the video turned into a mess, then R Kelly's personal scandal tarnished it, then she fulfilled fans wishes by collabing with Christina which didn't equate to much in the end, and now she's left with a sort-of hit that she was kind of forced to love because everyone else seemed to love it...but didn't really buy.

Talk about a mixed bag.

I know. It's just kind of sad that one of her all-time best songs is one that she is going to dislike. Kind of like how she despises Telephone despite it being in her top three best music videos.

The good thing about DWUW is that she established a positive relationship with Christina and cut off the rumors that all teams and Perez were spreading. An olive branch that brought fans of Christina and Gaga together that I think will last for quite awhile.

Relatable at a distance.

IMO, removing herself from social media is the way to go. Kill two birds with one stone, because it'll build hype if she is less active.

Like you say, she was acting like she had it all sorted and stuff was going to kick off properly now...but when are these plans kicking in exactly?! She's got a damn album to promote. We're in a fizzing out campaign - why is she not doing anything like performing at the Grammys/Brits?!

Makes me think that these plans aren't really for AP1. Or maybe she's just letting DWUW die the mess that it was, and focus energy on single #3?
