It is, but the media are loving this "fictitious UK residence to evade taxes" headline and the people are eating it up.
You pay MORE income tax in the UK.
I don't understand how it even got this far though, if his real country of residence was Italy, then I assume he should get back whatever he paid in the UK. But none of the articles bother to explain it so I don't know the details. But they live for catching and dragging tax criminals, both real ones like Dolce & Gabbana and ones that didn't mean any harm.
