I can say that I've never had an issue with Macklemore and I commend him on standing up for gay rights even though he's a straight man.
I do, however, find it laughable that his music is hailed as groundbreaking just because he's a white rapper singing about social issues, yet The Roots, Common and Talib Kweli have been doing socially conscious rap for years yet no one really cares.
I also have a problem with gays having an issue with Macklemore standing up for gay rights, but have no issue with Gaga (who is obviously straight, has never gotten her cooch licked by another female and is pandering to the gays) singing "Born This Way." What kinda of sexism on gays' part?
We all have to get it together.
