Is it a necessity to type "Edit:" when editing a post because I see people do that and I never do it. I just correct whatever I correct and leave it at that.

It's helpful sometimes in major threads because the edit may or may not show up if someone quotes you super fast. I don't think people use "Edit:" to correct typing mistakes like on other forums.

I use it more as a rhetorical flourish than anything. Sometimes it just feels right.

It's useful because sometimes the reason you update your post is for something important/relevant to the previous thing you posted and by adding "edit" the readers will re-read your posts when they have that word (most of the time).

That's what I'm thinking. People should have the links in the first place honestly, that's not a big deal. I think the idea of remembering to trim down articles is gonna be a definite issue for people.


Hopefully it's not too messy, though. It's not like it's an unjust policy.
