It's okay sometimes...to a certain extent. Even known stans of artists are warned for shading their favs. It just depends on the severity of the drag.
It seems like some blacks have no problems using the "n" word, yet don't like when others use it outside of the race (which I don't agree with, it should be off limits all around). The "f" word for gays are being used commonly now among their social circles, yet when a homophob uses it, it's not okay. We have several things that seem acceptable in the internal circle, but for outsiders, not so much so.
