He wouldn't win in court. The school has every right to remove a pupil under the grounds that it's for their own safety.

Good luck to him, but there are consequences. I don't understand why he won't graduate, though.

As a high school student who recently had a conflict with my school over being forced to enroll in a course that was not required by the school's policy in any way, and whose friends have have privacy issues concerning the school system, I encourage everyone to know their rights and the school's rights in situations like this.

His public school life and his private life are entirely separate - he did not have any contact with classmates or school staff while working with Sean Cody, and the school therefore lacks both legal and moral standing in punishing him for a legal activity outside their jurisdiction.

That depends on so many factors! At my high school, we were given the opportunity to make up some of our days if we wanted to and it was also different for year long AP classes. We could miss 18 days and still be fine.

True, but if he did not initiate the protests himself and if he did not spread around his own videos to everyone himself (and I highly doubt he did) then nothing the principal is saying holds any weight. He did not himself cause any campus disturbance, and that reason was given for suspension BEFORE the protests were planned.

Was he suspended for missing 10 days or for causing a disruption? The former makes sense. Imagine missing your job for 10 days and see where that gets you.

But the disruption? He didn't seem to enforce his job onto the students, more like the other way around...

But they do. Every time I enroll for a school, the Terms & Condition always say something along lines of representing the appropriately on and off campus. And I'm sure it's the same in the US. If I am loud on the bus and a complaint is sent, I can be penalized, if I write something offensive on facebook, I can be penalized. That's just the way it is. As long as I am associated with the school, they have every right to punish me if I put them in a bad them in a bad light. It's bad for their business and they can cut me loose if I tarnish their image.

Oh, that's true. So, he was suspended because of the disruption caused because of the bullying. The school will still turn it around and claim all of it as a disturbance and get away with it. I'd be disgusted to think they suspended him because of his sexuality and the nature of what he got up to out of school. There's no proving that though, I guess. He'd win the case then.
