Just because they do it doesn't mean they have the right to do it.
As a high school student who recently had a conflict with my school over being forced to enroll in a course that was not required by the school's policy in any way, and whose friends have have privacy issues concerning the school system, I encourage everyone to know their rights and the school's rights in situations like this.
His public school life and his private life are entirely separate - he did not have any contact with classmates or school staff while working with Sean Cody, and the school therefore lacks both legal and moral standing in punishing him for a legal activity outside their jurisdiction.
