I'd rather Dope than nothing at all, which is what we're getting. Dope showcases Gaga's acoustic slayage. Venus would be a standard Venus performance = trainwreck. Applause is too long gone to perform. Gaga hates DWUW.

Gypsy would be the perfect choice to move into single #3, but if Gaga decided to perform Dope I'd like that we'd have a new performance. All the stanning for crap like Fashion!, Donatella and Venus is so delusional - the GP would just view it as Gaga declining further with songs that are substandard to what she put out before.

At least Dope is left-of-center enough to stand out.

Tbf though Gaga's BRIT performance of Telephone/DITD was so down-key compared to what everyone anticipated and yet it was so captivating. I remember reading stories about how usually the crowd is boozed up the BRITs and are usually rowdy during performances, but they were all silent and in awe during Gaga's

By Gaga's standards Dope is a lyrical masterpiece. It's also amazing to hear a song from her that's minimalistic for once. The only thing going against it is the vocals... I'm not sure whether she's trying to emulate being high with them but as far as it goes live the warbling is bad enough to infect people

It's one of the better songs on Artpop. Certainly better than that thank-god-she-avoided-it LM post I Wanna Be With You

She's trying to sound drunk and sad, but I wish her vocals weren't so rough. It really was a major distraction at first. I've grown to love the song now

Everything about this, except for the songwriting only being good by Gaga standards. The second verse is incredibly well written:
