My Spanish teacher loves Shakira, and I told her about CRTFY and she hasn't listened to it. I feel like she's one of those people who loves the artist but doesn't look out for releases and gets to music when it's convenient. I told her about the song yesterday and today and I feel like either
1. forgot
2. doesn't care because...
a. she doesn't care for her English music
b. doesn't like Rihanna
i'm not sure though. i mean, she also has a child, so i understand...but if it was me, i would be checking right away as soon as i heard about it
The pool scene in the video is hot and will get a lot of attention. Once the video is out, the non-believers and band wagoners will jump on board. For some reason, a lot of people need visuals to enjoy music.
Everyone is right about the chorus not being strong enough. The verses stick in my head but not the chorus. It's really hard for me to remember what it sounds like without listening to the song. If you don't hear it a million times it doesn't really stick... you can recall enjoying the song but you can't actually sing it.
The verses and the bridge is perfection but the chorus sucks minus when Rihanna gets the line, she really sounds so good. Shakira sounds VERY obnoxious on the chorus and her oOOOOHHHs are effing dreadful. Rihanna should have gotten the majority of a reggae type chorus, the one on the song sucks
