1) The lies. A forty or fifty spot jump on iTunes after the discount didn't happen just because her stans scraped up enough money to buy 35k extra copies. People just don't want to pay $16 for something that should cost $8 to $10.
2) Not really. She doesn't
have to release anything - in fact, it might be better for her to move on to her next single and video instead of releasing this ill-fated video that won't be worth a 2 month wait anyway.
She sounds like a geriatric spinster. Even actual geriatric spinster Madonna doesn't sound that bad these days.
