Oh no, that's just your ignorance. Debate Kournikova's athletic merits all your want, but her impact cannot be denied.
It's ok, though. He's obviously too young or not enough invested in tennis overall, that's fine, imo.
Kournikova will be always remembered, in 20 or 30 years from now as the one who paved the way for other Russians, the one who was the most popular athlete in the world back in 1999,2000,2001&2002; the second woman who beat 4 TOP 10 players in one torunament, the one who's name was "one of the most common search strings on Google" and continued to be until 2008. All this despite not winning a singles torunament. And Nick Bolletieri said "she was the best I've ever seen". To date, no female or male tennis player gained that much attention, what resulted in Kournikova's lack of confidence and focus=0 singles titles.
And:
Quote:
A variation of a White Russian made with skim milk is known as an Anna Kournikova.[54][55] In the lingo of the poker variation Texas Hold 'em, the hole cards Ace–King (unsuited) are sometimes referred to as an "Anna Kournikova", a term introduced by the poker commentator Vince van Patten during a WPT tournament because it "looks great but never wins".[56][57][58] A video game featuring Kournikova's licensed appearance, titled Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis, was developed by Namco and released for the PlayStation in Japan and Europe in November 1998.[59] A computer virus named the Anna Kournikova virus arose on 12 February 2001
Yes, I'm pressed, don't pay attention.
There was this documentary, which was quite sad. It was released one year after she went on tennis hiatus and this part mentions her popularity. To date, no female or male tennis player gained that much attention, what resulted in Kournikova's lack of confidence and focus=0 singles titles.
Going back to the Australian Open- Fed will get through 4 rounds I think. And hopefully Radwanska will be in quarters also, not sure what happened in Sydney though - tanked or shoulder injury? Or maybe Mattek Sands was just better.
He was doing SO well at Brisbane until the final so that's why I'm not very confident in him lol. He was shanking balls everywhere and he made 22 unforced errors in the 1st set, like who DOES that?
He changed racket size from 90' to 98' so, i think we should give him some time to fully adapt no?!
