Beyonce blew up because of her relationship with Jay-Z. Britney blew up because she was a great dancer and an all round good performer. You can make fun of Brit all you want but she's had a great career and no one can take that away.
Whitney was considered a huge joke. For the last 10+ years of her life all she was known for was crack and fighting with Bobby Brown. Much worse than Britney right now.

Whitney's last studio album was a success and it was a good commercial comeback, but Just Whitney a few years before did way worse than BJ and it was also a good fifteen years into Whitney's career. But Whitney had it worse because that was definitely the peak of her cocaine usage and she was ghastly thin. Britney at least seems healthy right now and has a residency to fall back on for the next 2 years.
She still managed the comeback in 09 tho. The tour is an entirely different situation but at least the album did well. That's why I think Britney shouldn't be ruled out completely.
