Sorry. I was wrong - The Fame did have something to say, it was just told through superficial things. That was what I meant to say.

The Fame Monster did have a cohesive theme, each song represented a different "fear" or whatever she said and where I hardly pay much attention to exactly what she says shes trying to say, I don't think you're giving it enough credit. You're kind of just writing it off as like random or something yet it was 8 songs wrapped up neatly and they all worked together and they all made sense. Thats a lot more powerful than what Born This Way accomplished imo, even if it had something important to say or thought it did.

Now this I can hear a lot more than the downside of fame. It is a dark album - and as an EP - I never expect it to have to deliver the whole theme deal. Yeah. Each song being kind of a different "fear" totally makes sense. Aside from maybe "Teeth," which almost sounds like it could have been in Born This Way. What I prefer about Born This Way is that it went out of the depths of what a pop star is allowed to do (and Gaga is still suffering today for it) and gave something entirely unique to the cultural time it came out but still retro in structure.

I agree with this fully and completely. It is a solid album with some tracks I happen to extremely love but it doesn't offer much in terms of what she promised.
I hope I'm not being annoying. I just love discussing albums in length like this. I always learn something new when it happens.
