are you sure about the Britney thing? because going off of certs, Bey has only sold 10m albums in the US + Britney has 2 diamond albums which automatically places her above Bey. or is that counting DC?

Majority of Beyonce's album sales come from a female group which came to prominence during the heights of album sales. Whereas Taylor is pulling off better numbers at a time when only 3 artists (Adele, Eminem, Taylor) can sell upwards of 4 million copies.

It's hard but I voted for Beyoncé. They are both at completely different stages of their careers. It's like comparing Britney and Madonna in 2000, Taylor has exceptionally well considering her age and discography. But Beyoncé has been on the US charts since 1997 and it doesn't look like she's about to leave any time soon. She's sold 30+ million albums in the US and 17 years into her career she's having he fastest selling album and biggest tour.

I'm from the UK and the Monarchs who have had the biggest impact have been the Monarchs who have reigned for the longest.

E.g: Queen Victoria I, Queen Elizabeth I & II

I just LOLed at Taylor appealing to the country crowd. She is the most hated, most polarizing act on country radio right now. She doesn't appeal to the album buyers. She makes an album buyer out of the typical music fan.

Japan is #1 because more money is made than in the US off of music. The US still sells more copies though.

Like I said, Taylor makes an album buyer out of the typical music fan. If you combine Luke Bryan's and One Direction's album sales (the biggest country and pop album sellers these days, respectively) Red would still be outselling them. Nobody knows how she's doing it, but that has made her the most consistent act in the US since she debuted.

Country really has nothing to do with it. Its because her songs are highly relatable and appeal to lots of different age groups. Teens (because she is fairly safe artist- parents approve), people her age who share Taylor`s experiences, people from 30-60 who have shared her experiences and listen to flash back.
