Eating meat is unnecessary because you can manipulate your diet to get all necessary nutrients without it. But killing animals to eat them isn't pointless, because they provide an additional way of getting those nutrients.
Wearing fur is unnecessary because you can manipulate your clothing to get all necessary warmth without it. But killing animals to wear fur isn't pointless, because they provide an additional way of getting that warmth.
You have the choice to wear any other kind of material. Wearing fur is just as bad as killing an animal for fun, it's cruel and pointless and absolutely unnecessary.
