That's only in joints (and only in some parts of the world). Lots of people smoke from pipes/bongs.

Anyway if you're saying weed should be illegal because people mix it with a harmful product shouldn't the harmful product be illegal instead?

No, not really. For one, weed lowers your productivity which gets in the way of working and earning a living in a way that alcohol does not. Sure alcohol does too, but most people who consume alcohol are not alcoholics whereas its easier to slip and become a pothead who spends all day smoking instead of getting any actual work done throughout the day. That's your experience, and mine as well. People use it to either relax and for some others, they use it to heighten their productivity or thinking. It's a different reaction to everyone and to say yours is the standard is childish and severely uninformed.
