True. It's just that most of the time, the artists don't get to choose what to perform. The ceremony isn't so much about promoting your new material, but usually to showcase what the artist have been nominated for. Katy had the opportunity to perform ET in 2011, but she performed NLTM and TD instead.

We shall see, though.
