The supposed point of singles is to help promote and sell the album. That doesn't happen in pop music any more. Miley had two of the biggest singles of the year and Bey has already outsold her.

Bey would have to sell more than 12,000,000 singles with no discount to match the returns her album sales have already given her. Who sold 12,000,000 singles with no discount this year?

This is a BUSINESS. The charts are a nice little aside for forum stanning, but trying to create this fiction that Bey's situation right now is bad is ridiculous. Do the math.

But was that the focus of this project and the release? No.
If she has amazing single performance, lackluster, or otherwise, I don't think she is sweating over it. She knew what she was getting into when she released the full album all at once with no single.
