It's a movie about a pop star who gives all her love and emotions and energy to a fanbase, but they just can never fully return that love, even though they know how much the star loves them, and the star goes into a period of self-hate and depression, before realising that she doesn't need the fan bases love - she just needs 'the applause, applause, applause......', and falls in love with a new fan base (the Xtina fans) and enjoys a successful second career.
