In animation, you're giving a voice to an animated body who can still use facial expressions and body movements to convey meaning. It would be tricky to say you're nominating an actor who voiced an animated role based SOLELY on the voice, not the character animation. With
Her, Scarlett never appears on screen and she's voicing a computer so it's entirely reliant on her ability to convey emotion through her voice. I don't know if that makes sense, but it is really different.
