Though Dictator RedOne still hasn't let her release anything, the long-awaited music from Porcelain saw some light this year, and it's amazing! I also got into her low-quality demos but got my life. Makes me want to bite someone's skin off and stuff. She's a great artist and I hope that her career doesn't stay dormant forever

Though she's been pretty low-key and under-the-radar all throughout 2013, Lily bursted through the doors last month with Hard Out Here and I absolutely loved it. Also, following her social networks is enough to keep her on my radar in even the driest times of her career. The bitch is great. I forsee Lily being at the top of my charts in 2014.

I've never really got into Miss Kills until September, upon the release of her sophomore album, Trouble. I don't know what triggered the switch that made me want to get into her, but I'm very glad I did. Her artistry shined through on Trouble and she provided a few anthems to my life, admittedly. A huge new-found respect for this lady!

Sheryl has been one of my favorite human beings since I was a young child. Earlier this year, I drove around in the snow listening to her music, and later this year, I walked around campus listening to her newest country-tinged record, Feels Like Home. She's always on the fringes for me, no matter what - she's got a place in my heart

I went to the album opener concert she did in Glasgow for Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon, she was brilliant. Her past discography is so nostalgic for me too, I remember buying Eye to the Telescope when it first came out. One of my favourite artists of all time.

She's a great performer and artist, seriously a gem.

For some odd reason, I connect with this girl. Don't get me wrong, there are so many times when I disagree with her and want her to shut up, but I've kinda stood by her side the whole way. Yung Rapunxel was incredible, and even the ATM Jam video was halfway decent. Social network star Banks keeps making ends meet for me.

Just like everyone else, I can't get over the fact that this girl is younger than me. I have so much respect for her being able to balance everything she does at her age, all with booming talent and creativity that can't be contained. Pure Heroine certainly is a piece of art, I'm quite impressed. I always enjoy hearing what Lorde has to say, too.

James Blake

James Blake is an excellent musician and artist. I'd probably choose him to be if I had to choose anyone, actually. I've loved watching what he's put out this year. One thing I don't do much with him is watch interviews, or acknowledge what he's like in real life. Maybe I should do more of that... but the music certainly speaks volumes.

It's been beautiful to watch V V build her kingdom on her own this year. Parting ways with her major label contract, she has really worked hard this year to service her creations to everyone she can, and in such incredibly creative ways. She's also amazing, relatable and so down-to-Earth and supportive of others in the industry, it's refreshing.
