Madonna sang live the first 26 years of her career on every single concert. it's only for MDNA that she started to use a backing track for like 4 of the songs. everything else is still live without pretending. anyone who watches the raw footage of fans @ her concerts could tell you that.

My Dad was dragging Madead this weekend. One of her first ever live appearances in the UK was at a club called the Hacienda (famous for punk rock, house music etc), and they booked Madead to appear there.
She did this:
"She sounded f*cking awful, that's been dubbed on afterwards. The sound in there is terrible. She didn't even sing, just danced. We were all waiting for her to get off the stage again so we could drink. I wish I would have got her autograph or something because in 6 months time she blew up. But she was sh*t when I saw her."
