But what about the fact that from multiple reports Best Buy and other retailers ran out of physical copies of Eminem's album after his first sales week, and didn't get any more stock from Interscope until this past Friday/Saturday?
You have to admit it's a wise business move: imagine the bad press if Gaga debuted at #2.
Interscope wants to protect their investment in Lady Gaga so she can be a viable artist years into the future, so why not have Eminem sacrifice some sales for his second week in order to avoid a negative media frenzy?
