10 months after it was first released, Our Version of Events sold 178,000 copies in 1 week in the UK. That's the equivalent of about 350,000-400,000 copies if released in the US (according to IFPI).
Unlike that fat beast Adele who needed Grammys pramo to sell so much in 1 week, Emeli did it on talent alone. Emeli is the black albums artist of our generation but I think she might also be the overall albums artist of our generation.
Either way I think she is now at least B-List in the pop girls. More US success will make her A list.
