'Girl, don't have a baby 'cause everything else will go on the back burner': Adele, 25, told Kelly Clarkson, 31, to put off motherhood
Kelly Clarkson is ready to become a mother.
The country star, who tied the knot with Brandon Blackstock in October, has said her ideal Christmas present would be the gift of pregnancy. But not everyone thinks that's such a fabulous idea.
In the new issue of
UsWeekly, Kelly, 31, confesses Adele, 25, told her, 'Girl, don't have a baby 'cause everything else will go on the back burner. I'm living in babyland!' The Brit doled out the advice during a conversation at this year's Grammys.
Still the Texas native is intent on having a child.
'My eggs aren't getting young!' the Stronger singer told Us writer Ian Drew while promoting her holiday album Wrapped In Red. 'Brandon has two kids and I want two more.'
The Grammy winner also said, 'I get tired when I think about all the stuff I've done,' which would include selling 20 million albums. She then signaled she's ready for family life when she added, 'Bring on the kids!'
The performer, who moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be with her music manager husband, says things are so wonderful she wrote a song for him titled 'Winter Dreams (Brandon's song).'
'Hey I had to throw a cheesy love song in there,' she admits. 'It's about the way he shows me he loves me, like tracing the words "I love you" on my skin.'
She adds with a smile, 'That inspires me now.'
Though her personal life is picture perfect, she still feels the need to work.
'You never know how long success will last,' she told Us. 'I keep adding stuff on... I want it all.'
It's been 11 years since she won on American Idol. Her many accomplishments include three Grammys.
The beauty - a Green Mountain Coffee ambassador - also admits she gets starstruck around Reba McEntire, who is the stepmother of her husband.
'I still freak out and pinch myself when I sing with her,' says the Since U Been Gone hit maker. 'She just laughs at me! And Trisha Yearwood and Ronnie Dunn. It's unreal.'
In the chat, the beauty also confirms American Idol wanted her back as a judge. But Jennifer Lopez needed move over just yet.
'It's true, they producers came to me and wanted to bring some "originals" back to judge,' she offers. 'Cool idea, but I'm going on tour with Maroon 5.
I'm also getting a pop album and a country album ready for next year, and I want to be on Broadway. Maybe next time around, but not for now, I have a lot to sing about. I'm blessed!'
