Yeah, she should have complete creative freedom. She can still create great music and do well commercially. I feel songs like "Fashion!" and "Donatella" were pushed by her label to be on the album instead of other songs such as "Brooklyn Nights" and "Temple" which will most likely be a lot better. "Carter would often describe their relationship as a simple matter of balancing creative and business decisions: She makes 95 percent of the creative calls, while he handles five percent; he makes 95 percent of the business decisions, and she five."

At this point in her career, I doubt anyone is forcing Lady Gaga to do anything.

Eh, those songs are Gaga enough that they were probably her own creations. Donatella has been talked about since last year. Mary Jane Holland was the song they were battling for. Fashion! came literally out of nowhere. I don't believe that the label is pushing for anything music wise, that's all on her. I think she loves her music and that she'll stick by it. I do think that they push singles though and that's been evident for the past few eras. Troy is her personal manager though but if this is true I know people will try to use Troy being gone as an excuse for any type of under-performance

Now I will say though that I do agree with you, that's very weird, and if they're significantly better than Fashion! and a few of the other tracks on the album I'm going to start questioning but the only thing I can think of is Fashion! being contractually obliged because of the producers.

I really doubt it. If Beyonce managed to keep all her songs on her solo debut even when her label didn't think she had any hits, then Lady Gaga should be able to do the same. The amateur dramatics in here are something else. Like ya'll are painting this picture that Troy was some perfect saint that could do no wrong.

We don't know anything to do with the inside scoop, maybe he was underperforming. I mean, look at his other artists- where the hell are they careers at? Who's to say Interscope didn't push the button?

I stand by what I said last night- as a manager, he was already doing wrong by letting 70-80% of the BTW era happen. From BTW's polarising lyrics to Judas's polarising everything it was all very very risky from the business angle. Maybe this was a mutual agreement after a period of reflection rather than some Days Of Our Lives-ass battle.

As long as she picks up a new manager soon and keeps herself open to collaboration and outside interaction, as a fan I have no problem whatsoever. I would only be upset if she takes on too much personally and it detracts from her health and wellbeing.

Oh sis, we both know they will be better. "Cake Like Lady Gaga" is better, it's not going to take much to triumph over that messy song. The label probably felt that a song with will.i.am and David Guetta would smash super hard on the charts (which is all they care about) and just "encouraged" Gaga to include it on the album. I guess I will have to drag a bitch when they are released and **** all over "Fashion!".

As JAY said vincent is the record executive. He okays pretty much everything, and Troy is her personal manager so Troy handles things like booking/promotion and campaigns. He's the guy who basically guides her career while Jimmy Iovine/Vince Herbert are the people that say Yes/No/Maybe so
