Why do people act like SNSD's second album was a total disaster? I mean the first is superior imo but the second was good and certainly not a mess like their Korean albums.

It's an amazing album but I don't agree with the 2nd part of this when SNSD has songs in their discography like Show! Show! Show!, Reflection and Flower Power, to name a few.

I don't know if this was directed at me or a general statement for the rest of us in this thread (I apologize before hand) but SNSD's Second Japanese Album is also a favorite of mine, I listen to that album the most at of all of them, I'm just having a moment with Let It Rain + Beautiful Stranger at the moment.

The problem with the second album was it started off a Shoujo Jidai album and by track 5, felt like a Sonyeo Shidae album. It lacked the coherence, sharpness, progressiveness and hooks which made the first album the best pop album since Blackout. It had moments of brilliance though; Flower Power, released a year and one day ago!

Girls Generation 1 is an AMAZING album. The production is very ahead of its time.
Girls Generation 2 was okay - had potential with Paparazzi and Flower Power, but the rest is ehh OKAY!

This, basically. Not to say that GG2 was a bad album; it was definitely enjoyable, it just wasn't the next level standard we expected after GG1. Flower Power and Paparazzi are both awesome, and Animal, Reflection, G&P are all very, very decent album tracks. The Japanese version of Oh! is also better than the Korean version. The rest are seasonal.
