I'm glad I never became whiny like that when I went through that phase I just focused on the Western scene until I eventually came back to K-pop and now listen to both regularly.

It's stupid to say things like "K-pop is dead" when there is still great music being released by consistent artists.

I can see why people are complaining about K-pop being 'sucky' this year. Most of the major/mainstream/popular bands and artists have released underwhelming music and I'm guessing the general fans aren't feeling it? Of course it's all completely subjective, but still.

I actually thought 2012 was worse though. There were too many groups debuting left and right which kinda overwhelmed me.

I, myself, never said I "didn't like anything" per se.
I said that the songs I did like got old quick.
I personally believe that nothing too memorable was released this year - it has nothing to do with "the newness factor".
The fact of the matter is that I've been exposed to K-pop half a decade ago as I do have Korean friends.
You would be right to say that I only closely followed the scene for two years, but that is irrelevant anyway.
I just personally believe the high points of 2013 aren't too high in comparison to past years.

Oh and BTW, I think it wouldn't hurt this thread to stop being stuck in a mob mentality - it's too cliquey in here.
