You are the delusional one. Slowly getting bigger is much better then peaking early then having nowhere to go but down. Longevity >>> selling 50% of an albums total sales in the first week. Katy started with 192K and reached 2.7 million. Gaga started with 1.1 million and ended with 2.2 million. Not so great.

No matter how you look at this number: it's extremely disappointing for a first week. Considering that she is one of the most prominent pop stars of today's industry, combined with two major promotion projects in the form of a Walmart commercial and deal with Clear Channel, and adding the fact that she has the great success of the Teenage Dream era to further support it.

Longevity or not, Katy should be able to pull in a much bigger number.

TD sold more than 2.8M but you are right.

Funny thing is that Gaga promoted A LOT and released 5 singles and half of them flopped or underperformed.

Katy needed 3 years + a re release + 8 singles to top 2.7
Gaga needed End of May till December to top 2.2M with 5 singles

What a load of BS. No one can predict the future so I'm not sure why you're so sure Prism is going to have Teenage Dream-sized longevity (it might very well have though I don't think this album is as good as her last one but time will tell). As for the numbers that we currently do have, the first week sales, those are quite depressing so let's focus on that instead of trying to change the subject OK honey
