Smogon and its tier system has been a mess since around the ending of the 4th Gen. They've gotten lazy , and so have the players. Since they don't want to attempt to try to get out of the box or Smogon's list of appropriate move-sets.
So how can we find counters for things when Smogon automatically says "Lol no, UBERS".
That being said, there are situations where things like Speed Boost Blaziken being banned because while there were counters, it was found that without them, a team can get shredded to pieces, and its no fun seeing teams with Jellicent just for a Blaziken counter

I think Drizzle + Swift Swim will be unbanned too, firstly because of the obvious nerf, and secondly because Kingdra has to deal with Fairies now, and Special sets have to deal with Assault Vest Slaydra too.
But don't get me wrong, I love seeing Blaziken banned as I don't like him in the least bit, he can stay pressed in Ubers.
Unfortunately I think that'll happen to Gengar too though, but at least they can ban only the Mega Stone.

But most things that go uber have a reason to. Like you said SB Blaziken with SD can wreck teams. So can Mega Gengar. Garchomp and Excadrill were just broken with endless sandstorm and so on. But i would say that UU and OU are messy. Many UU pokemon are viable in OU

Dealing with Mega Gengar is actually quite easy with Mega Absol.

Excadrill was banned because of Sand Rush, and you can't simply ban an ability altogether.
They should have just forced everyone to use Sand Force/Mold Breaker and leave my baby mole alone.
But I can emphasize that bolded part. I've used Froslass, Slowbro and heck even Yanmega and they do just fine. The Tiers are messy.
I didn't mind him much until I saw how overrated he was and GF giving him such an amazing Hidden Ability. Him getting a Mega over the other superior 3rd Gen starters was just the icing on the cake. He's gonna get banned anyway, so no probz.

Regular Absol can do it too, and if your Gengar is against an Absol no doubt you'd switch probably

I think Froslass is good to be in UU. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing it's really good at doing is it's spikes niche and a spinblocker. (outclassed as a spinblocker though)
But yeah, a lot of UU pokemon can work in OU for sure

Yeah, after the Snow Cloak ban, it's really the only thing she has going on for her. I mean, I don't expect her to be OU all of a sudden (especially not with those stats and being an Ice type, the GF trolling) and I actually like her in UU, since she can surprise a few people when used as a lead in OU (Tyranitar is a MAJOR pain in the ass though).
Slowbro deserves to be OU though.

Space-based photovoltaic power generation!
It's not as complicated as it sounds! We have an operation in outer space that gathers energy from the sun and beams it down here in the form of microwaves and electromagnetic waves.
We've got the Pokémon called Porygon helping with our outer-space operation.

Pokémon Z confirmed.

I used to use Slowbro in UU. It brushes off an EQ from Rhyperior like nothing then drags Rhyperior to the PITS
I haven't been keeping up with competitive battling in gen 6 yet, but I will eventually when everything is all out of beta and stuff.

Omg who keeps Rhyperior against a Slowbro though.
You should use him with Heatran tbh, it worked flawlessly in Gen 5. A grass type works to complement it too like Breloom (or Gourgeist ).
The good thing about being UU and viable in OU is that you can use them in either tier, instead of being stuck to just one.

That's a funny way to say:
made everything better by forcing people to use more originality
