Can someone explain me why is Baby It's Cold Outside considered being a rape song? I've read it several times and I think that it was also said in some interview with Kelly (the host said it, not Kelly). Like, I know that there is the "what's in this drink" line but I think it's a metaphore for sure, not the man actually giving the lady some drugs. I find the song very sweet and lovely, so I don't get why people think it's a rape song...

Maybe she's asking for the recipe because the drink is so good she wants to make it on her own in the future
I really like this song, the man's voice could've been better though.

Probably because the lyrics are a little creepy. A couple is having drinks, so they're probably drunk. The girl wants to leave and the guy is telling her to stay with him. So some people think of it as the creepy "date-rape Christmas song" lol

Looking at those lyrics, it's really, really creepy. Wew! I think Imma skip that now because I dont really like it in the first place. Haha. The best ones for me are the original songs plus Please come home for Christmas, Just for now, and white christmas.

I think of the lyrics in a different way. I don't think that the girl wants to leave and the guy wants her to stay. I think the lady and the man are playing some kind of "game" (if you know The Mighty Boosh then I would call it a "love game"), the lady wants to stay in fact but she doesn't want to look like a cheap ***** that's immediately goes to men's beds so she's teasing the guy and she is like "I can't stay, really, my parents would be furious, what the neighbours would think" but in the same time she throws hints that she wants to stay because she really likes the guy "maybe one more drink, maybe one more cigarette, I wish I knew how to break this spell (which I am under because of you), the evening has been so nice". The guy doesn't see this game and he's desperately trying to persuade her to stay ("never such a blizzard before, you'll freeze out there, think of my lifelong sorrow..."). At the end she seems to decide to stay (although she wanted to stay the whole time) but she makes it look like it wasn't her fault "At least I'm gonna say that I tried, I really can't stay but it's cold outside".

I think so too. I think it's her bad conscience that makes her want to leave. She never says "I want to go because I don't feel like staying", she only says "what will the others think, my family, my brother, my neighbors.." So by saying "at least I tried", she wants to ease her bad conscience and use it as an excuse to her family.

Wrapped In Red seems so short to me. Although all Kelly's (standard versions of) albums are approximately about 47 minutes, WIR seems so short to me. I put it on and suddenly I am listening to Silent Night. I've already listened to the whole album like 7 times and it's so amazing.
